How to Get Your 8 Glasses a Day

We are always hearing about how drinking more water is good for us. But what to do if you don’t like water?

This is an excuse I’ve heard thousands of times…’can’t drink it because I don’t like it.’ Well, honestly it doesn’t have to be a punishment. One of the easiest ways you can jazz up your water is to add fruit to it.

I always keep a jug of water in the fridge with some fruit in. The classic lemon and/or lime is one of my favorites. However, I also like to throw in a few slices of orange. A work colleague pops sliced strawberries into her jug, which is yummy. I also like to add lemon balm and/or peppermint from the garden in the summer time. For a refreshing spa-type treat, how about some cucumber slices or a nice piece of lemon-grass?

These are really inexpensive and healthy options. Much better than adding aspartame or sugar laden expensive packets of additives. And so much better to keep away from the artificially sweetened and colored additives that are currently being hyped.

And if you are really fancying something a bit decadent ~ a fresh vanilla pod with slices of lime is my summer-time treat favorite!

Try filling up your jug with water, adding some fruit and popping in the fridge at bedtime. Then it’s flavored and chilled for you to take with you during the day. I pop mine on my desk and sip away until I’ve downed my 8 glasses a day.
